The details, when you need them.

Open a topic for pickup arrangements, optional walking and booking conditions.

How is the six-hour tour time allocated?

Allow approximately 25 minutes at Arataki Visitor Centre, 30 minutes for the optional native forest walk, 30 minutes at Karekare Falls, 10 minutes at Piha Lookout, 45 minutes at Piha Beach and 30 minutes for refreshments. The remaining 190 minutes allow for driving, parking, boarding and flexibility.

Your six hours run from scheduled accommodation pickup to return drop-off. All timings are estimates and may be redistributed to suit traffic, weather, access and your group.

Is this private, and how do group prices work?

Yes. Your booked group has exclusive use of the allocated vehicle. Choose Standard or Executive travel for up to four, six or ten passengers. The fixed fare is per group; it does not increase for each passenger within that limit. One person may book at the full group fare. All adults, children and infants count towards the limit. There is no shared-tour minimum operating passenger requirement.

How do I choose Standard or Executive travel?

Choose one of six options when booking: Standard or Executive, each for up to four, six or ten passengers. Enter the actual number of adults, children and infants. Every passenger counts towards the selected limit, and the fare is per group rather than per person.

Standard up to four uses a Toyota Camry, Highlander or similar. Standard up to six or ten uses a spacious Toyota Hiace or similar van. Executive travel uses Mercedes-Benz or equivalent vehicles, including V-Class and Sprinter options as appropriate.

Your vehicle is allocated to match the category booked and your group’s requirements. Preferred models can be requested but are subject to availability. Vehicle photos are examples.

Where do you pick up and drop off?

Complimentary accommodation pickup and return drop-off cover Auckland CBD or up to 5 km by road from Britomart. Enter the name and full address of your accommodation when booking. We will confirm your pickup time before travel; be ready at the main entrance five minutes beforehand.

There is no shared accommodation collection round. Other locations require separate arrangements and may incur an agreed additional charge.

Can you collect us from Auckland Airport?

Airport collection requires separate arrangements and an additional charge, subject to timing and availability. For direct airport-to-city travel, refer to the fixed fares in our Airport & Private Transfers booking form. Airport transfers are not included in the private-tour fare.

What is included?

A six-hour private tour in your selected Standard or Executive category, a professional driver, English-language sightseeing commentary during the drive, the planned stops subject to conditions, accommodation collection within our stated area, complimentary bottled water, normal parking charges and GST.

What is not included?

Meals, snacks, afternoon tea, drinks other than bottled water, paid attraction tickets, personal purchases and optional gratuities are additional. Guided forest walks, specialist nature guiding, swimming, surfing, cave exploration, Kitekite Falls and Lion Rock climbing are not included. Airport transfers, out-of-area collection, special equipment and additional tour time require separate agreement.

How much walking is involved?

The Arataki forest walk, waterfall walk and beach stroll are optional. Forest walks are self-guided; the driver may accompany your group where practical. Paths may include slopes, steps and uneven or slippery ground, while beach walking involves sand.

Please describe mobility assistance or equipment needs when booking. Walking routes remain subject to access conditions. Follow safety signs, track closures and footwear-cleaning instructions.

What should we bring?

Closed-toe walking shoes with good grip, cleaned of soil before travel; a jacket or raincoat; sun protection; a camera or smartphone; a small day bag; your booking confirmation; and a payment card or cash for refreshments. Bring snacks or a packed lunch if preferred. The route includes winding roads.

Can children and infants travel?

Yes. Include every adult, child and infant in your booking. There is no separate per-person child or infant fare within your selected group limit. Every infant occupies a passenger seat and requires an appropriate child restraint; lap travel is not offered.

Provide children’s ages and restraint requirements when booking. We will confirm suitability, availability and any additional charge. Children under 18 must travel with an adult aged 18 or over and remain supervised.

What about luggage and special requests?

Small day bags are recommended. Tell us about suitcases, pushchairs, wheelchairs or bulky equipment so we can confirm space and suitable arrangements. For mobility equipment, say whether it folds and whether the passenger can transfer into a vehicle seat. Requests remain subject to confirmation; any additional charge will be advised for agreement.

Can we extend the tour?

Extensions depend on driver and vehicle availability, with a minimum charge of one additional hour. Your assigned vehicle’s hourly rate and applicable conditions apply. Refer to our Hourly Chauffeur & Private Hire page. We will agree the cost before extending; additional payment can be made through a secure payment link.

Can I pay a deposit, and how do I pay the remaining balance?

Where offered at checkout, you can pay a 30% deposit or pay in full. The remaining 70% is due no later than 24 hours before your scheduled pickup. Bookings made within two days of departure require full payment.

You can pay the balance securely through Manage my booking in your confirmation email. We also send a reminder two days before travel with a direct link to your booking portal.

Your booking portal shows your current payment status. Once your balance is paid in full, you can download your updated ticket showing Paid in full and your latest invoice reflecting all payments received.

If you need assistance or haven’t received your reminder, please contact us.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 24 hours before scheduled pickup for a full refund of payments made for the tour, including deposits. Later cancellations and no-shows are normally non-refundable, subject to applicable consumer rights. Any cancellation charge will not exceed the total fare or a reasonable estimate of our loss, taking account of costs saved and replacement bookings.

Your checkout shows the cancellation deadline and full terms. Cancel through the booking portal where available, or contact us with your booking reference. If we cancel, we will offer an alternative or a full refund for the tour. Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986 remain unaffected.

What if weather or access affects the itinerary?

Stop order, timings and access may change with weather, traffic, opening hours or safety restrictions. An affected stop may be replaced with a suitable alternative. Views depend on visibility. If we make a significant change you do not accept, we will offer an alternative or an appropriate refund for the affected service.

What happens after booking?

Check your confirmation and ticket for the date, time, selected category, group limit, passenger numbers, pickup/drop-off details and payment status. Tell us promptly if anything is incorrect or changes. We will confirm pickup arrangements and respond separately to special requests.
