Before you book

The details, when you need them.

Open a topic for vehicle choices, pickup arrangements and booking conditions.

How is the four-hour tour time allocated?

The four hours run from your scheduled accommodation pickup to your return drop-off. Our planning allowance is approximately 145 minutes at the seven stops and 95 minutes for driving, parking, boarding and flexibility.

These are estimates, not fixed appointments or guaranteed travel times. Your driver may redistribute time or adjust the order for traffic, weather, opening hours and your group’s preferences. Afternoon tours visit the Wintergardens early enough for the applicable closing time.

Is the tour private, and is there a minimum group size?

Yes. The vehicle and driver are exclusively for your booked group. One person can book; there is no shared-tour minimum passenger requirement. The full price for the selected group option applies even if fewer passengers travel.

How do I choose Standard or Executive travel?

Choose one of six options when booking: Standard or Executive, each for up to four, six or ten passengers. Enter the actual number of adults, children and infants. Every passenger counts towards the selected limit, and the fare is per group rather than per person.

Standard up to four uses a Toyota Camry, Highlander or similar. Standard up to six or ten uses a spacious Toyota Hiace or similar van. Executive travel uses Mercedes-Benz or equivalent vehicles, including V-Class and Sprinter options as appropriate.

Your vehicle is allocated to match the category booked and your group’s requirements. Preferred models can be requested but are subject to availability. Vehicle photos are examples.

Where do you pick up and drop off?

Complimentary pickup and return drop-off cover your hotel, motel or other accommodation within Auckland CBD or up to 5 km by road from Britomart. Enter your full pickup and drop-off addresses when booking.

We will confirm your pickup time before travel. Please be ready at the main entrance five minutes beforehand. This is your own private group, so there is no shared accommodation collection round. Locations outside the stated area require separate arrangements and may incur an additional charge.

Can you collect us from Auckland Airport?

Airport collection requires separate arrangements and an additional charge, subject to timing and availability. For direct Auckland Airport ↔ Auckland City journeys, refer to the fixed fares in our Airport & Private Transfers booking form. A separate airport transfer is not included in the private-tour fare.

Please discuss timing with us before booking flights or timed activities around the tour.

What is included?
  • A four-hour private tour in your selected Standard or Executive category.
  • A professional driver with English-language sightseeing commentary.
  • The planned sightseeing route and photo stops, subject to conditions.
  • Pickup and return drop-off within the complimentary collection area.
  • Bottled water and normal parking charges.
  • GST included in the group fare.
What is not included?
  • Attraction admission tickets, including entry inside Auckland Museum.
  • Meals, snacks and drinks other than the bottled water provided.
  • Airport transfers or pickup/drop-off outside the complimentary area.
  • Personal purchases, optional gratuities and unconfirmed additional services.

The museum stop is exterior only. If you wish to purchase timed attraction tickets, discuss the itinerary with us first; an interior visit is not included in this four-hour route.

Can children and infants travel?

Yes. Include every adult, child and infant in the booking. The fixed group fare applies, with no separate per-person infant or child fare within your selected passenger limit. Every infant occupies a passenger seat and needs an appropriate child restraint; lap travel is not offered.

Provide each child’s age and restraint requirements in the booking question. We will confirm suitability, availability and any additional charge. Children under 18 must travel with an adult aged 18 or over.

What about walking, accessibility and luggage?

Walking is optional. Mount Eden’s summit requires an uphill walk from the vehicle drop-off area; some viewpoints cannot be reached by vehicle. Please tell us about mobility assistance, wheelchairs or other equipment, including whether the passenger can transfer into a vehicle seat.

Small day bags are recommended. Suitcases, pushchairs and bulky items may affect vehicle suitability. Describe your requirements when booking so we can confirm arrangements and any additional charges. Wear comfortable shoes and bring clothing suitable for changeable weather.

Can we extend the tour?

Extensions are subject to driver and vehicle availability, with a minimum charge of one additional hour. Your assigned vehicle’s hourly rate and applicable extension conditions apply. Refer to our Hourly Chauffeur & Private Hire page for rates and conditions.

We will confirm the additional cost and obtain your agreement before extending the tour. Additional payment can be made through a secure payment link.

Can I pay a deposit, and how do I pay the remaining balance?

Where offered at checkout, you can pay a 30% deposit or pay in full. The remaining 70% is due no later than 24 hours before your scheduled pickup. Bookings made within two days of departure require full payment.

You can pay the balance securely through Manage my booking in your confirmation email. We also send a reminder two days before travel with a direct link to your booking portal.

Your booking portal shows your current payment status. Once your balance is paid in full, you can download your updated ticket showing Paid in full and your latest invoice reflecting all payments received.

If you need assistance or haven’t received your reminder, please contact us.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled pickup for a full refund of payments made, including deposits. Later cancellations and no-shows are normally non-refundable, subject to applicable consumer rights. Any cancellation charge will not exceed the total fare or a reasonable estimate of our loss.

Your checkout shows the applicable cancellation deadline. Cancel through the customer booking portal where available, or contact us with your booking reference. Notify us promptly about delays; a late start caused by your group may reduce sightseeing time unless an extension is agreed.

If we cancel the tour, we will offer an alternative or a full refund for that tour. Nothing in these conditions limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986.

What happens after booking?

Check your confirmation email and ticket for the tour date, selected category, group limit, passenger numbers, pickup/drop-off details and payment status. Tell us promptly if anything is incorrect.

We will confirm pickup arrangements and respond separately to special requests. Your vehicle will be assigned to match the option booked. A ticket or booking reference alone does not establish that the balance has been paid.
